Meek Mill was reaching out for some honest opinions. In an attempt to hear what people say about whether he was still relevant in the rap game, the “All Eyes on You” rapper asked social media users if he had fallen off from the hip-hop music industry.
On Wednesday, June 14, the 36-year-old spitter candidly tweeted, “Who think I fell off or don’t really think I got it with rapping anymore?…. ” On the reason why he made the inquiry, he simply explained, “I’m fr I need answers.”
Assuring he will take the feedback positively, the “Sharing Locations” rapper encouraged his devotees by saying, “And tell the truth I’m not taking it personal.” He added, “I need to hear how people think before I do what I do! A social experiment! Answer if you a supporter of mines!”
Hours later, Meek came out with a follow-up tweet, clarifying further what he was really asking. He tweeted, “I’m not asking for confidence either lol.”
Meek’s request was subsequently heard by his devotees. Among many, one wrote back, “You just gotta keep dropping albums in my opinion, with good rollouts, singles, videos and features.” Another noted, “Been listening to you since you was first dropping on datpiff. We want to hear music from you. They think you fell off and can’t compete no more. Stop playing around and go beast mode.”
A third, in the meantime, stated, “@MeekMill is lazy now, probably have other personal things his focus on. The thing is are you going continue with rap on the old wave or are you going to adopt, to this new gen z music. You ready have to name, experience, the fans & billionaire’s friends. Leave a legacy.” A fourth added, “Just stop the talk & drop. That’s how we ALL feel. We KNOW what you capable of. SHOW IT.”
Meek’s tweet came nearly two weeks after he dissed DJ Drama for tearing him down. “Dj drama a goofy over these h*es lol he won’t speak good on me I tore him up in the A,” he first tweeted on May 30. In a follow-up one, he continued, “I asked drama why he always speaking down on me with a few other words too, told him he’s a goofy.”
“I also hit him when he tried to compare ‘Dreams And Nightmares’ to ‘[Just] Wanna Rock’ AND DOWNPLAY ME,” he went on to share his opinion. “DONT LET THESE INDUSTRY LAMES USE YOU THEY DONT REALLY EVEN LIKE YOU SMH LOL.”
