Ariana Grande has been called the Mariah Carey of her generation before and whether people agree or not, the “God Is A Woman” singer getting acknowledged by Mariah means there’s only love and respect between the two. Yesterday was Mariah’s 49th birthday and along with all the fan shoutouts the singer received, one came from Ariana who posted an image to her Instagram story with the caption:

“Happiest anniversary queen of everything. Loved u then, love u now, love u tomorrow.” Fans were thrilled to see that Mariah re-shared the post to her personal Instagram reading, “Thank you dahhhhling!!”

The shoutout sparked a bunch of commentary on Twitter with people far too ecstatic on the social media love. “MARIAH CAREY AND ARIANA GRANDE INTERACTING ON INSTAGRAM I FUCKING LOVE 2019,” one user wrote, while another added: “@ArianaGrande greeted @MariahCarey and Mimi responded! Now, we need an effin collab! ? We love legends.”
