The FC crew remain unsure that Ole Gunnar Solskaer is the right long-term appointment for Manchester United, even if he sees out his interim role successfully.

Paul Pogba is in contention to face Tottenham despite the midfielder missing the start of Manchester United’s trip to Dubai to stay behind for treatment, sources have told ESPN FC.

Pogba was ruled out of the 2-0 win over Reading on Saturday after picking up an injury against Newcastle.

The Frenchman was on the end of a heavy challenge from Jonjo Shelvey during the 2-0 win at St James’ Park on Wednesday and was unable to train before the FA Cup clash with the Championship side.

Pogba was absent from the squad which flew to Dubai on Saturday evening for a warm weather training camp ahead of the trip to Spurs on Jan.13.

He stayed behind in Manchester for treatment and will join up with the group in Dubai later this week. United are hopeful he will be available to line up at Wembley on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who recorded his fifth straight win as United boss on Saturday, has taken Chris Smalling to Dubai as the defender steps up his recovery from a foot problem.

Youngsters Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong, James Garner and Angel Gomes are also part of the squad.

United will spend four days in Dubai before travelling back to Manchester on Thursday.
