The Mbere brothers Major League DJz continue their mixing session with “Amapiano Balcony Mix Live” featuring the American band Major Lazer.
This is no mix outta the blue, as the Major League brothers had promised this project before they actually released it. In a post to Instagram, the brothers had given a timeline when fans could look forward to the mix.
Also, there’s nothing novel in their decision to co-opt the American band on their live mix. Although Major League initially started spitting out their mixes alone, they have grown to include other artistes for mixing sessions. So far, several artistes have worked with them, including Kabza De Small and Boohle.
Major Lazer isn’t known for amapiano music, but the band clearly did well alongside the South African band. It’s a pleasure listening to them together.
By the way, the mix drops amid claims by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) that the Mbere brothers are oweing the body. The news had generated headlines recently.
From the look of things, though, Major League is focused on the music, even though it is possible the group may be negotiating quietly with the revenue service. Well, let’s face the music from the Majors. Shall we?
