Maiden edition of Youth Leadership Education Summit (Yles) slated for Aug 2- 4
Ghanaian Fashion brand Modasckky is hosting its maiden edition of the Youth Leadership Education Summit (YLES) scheduled for August 2 to August 4.
The three-day camping event seeks to take fresh SHS and JHS leavers through rigorous mentoring sessions that will prepare them for their next phase in life.
The summit will bring together renowned speakers from Ghana as well as from Mauritius. They will be speaking on Leadership themes including Political leadership, Spiritual Leadership for the futuristic leader, Financial leadership amongst others.
The summit also looks forward to building the interpersonal relationships of participants. But that’s not all. All work and no play they say makes Jack a dull boy. To achieve a lively program, the organizers have included a day’s trip to one of the beautiful islands at Akosombo in the Eastern Region.
Also on the last day of the summit, participants will be thrilled to an unforgettable send off dinner party to wrap up the life changing summit.
Background of Speakers
• Carroll Kwabena Owu
He is a professional Dietician for about a decade. He has been counseling people to make healthy lifestyle modifications. He has had extensive experience in working with clients in hospitals, factories and churches. He is also a trained Pastor who in turns also trains Pastors on leadership and other courses. He is young and passionate about equipping others to face change, to cause change and to make the best of our constantly changing world
• Professor Fazeelah Banu
Associate Professor, Management. MBA, MPhil. She has overall 14+ years of experience in the IT, ITES, and Education Sector and is an expert in Soft Skills (Trained 10,000+ graduates.
She has conducted many workshops on Team building, Attitude & Behaviour of employees and Emotional Intelligence for the corporate world. Conducted Seminars and workshops in many Universities. Organized a National conference on Foreign Direct Investment in Mauritius. Registered (MQA) Trainer in the field of Management.
• Afua Gyane
She holds a Master of Science Degree in Energy Management from The University of Stirling, Scotland and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology, Ghana. She is a highly organised, creative and motivated professional with extensive work experience in businesss development, sales and relationship management.
She has worked with big multinational companies like Coca Coca Bottling Company of Ghana, Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, Vivo Energy Ghana and Akwaaba Petroleum Company where she has been involved in high-level strategy development and responsible for maintaining strong relationship with key clients. She enjoys nothing more than thinking outside the box. Very analytical and thorough in developing business plans and strategies.
Afua is also an experienced youth worker specialised in guiding and supporting young people in their personal, social and educational development to help them reach their full potential in society. She has worked with a number of senior high school students on career goals and leadership programmes.
• Beatrice Oforiwaa Dankyi (Mrs.)
Beatrice Oforiwaa Dankyi (Mrs.) is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in English Language at the Department of English of the University of Ghana, Legon. She has more than six years of teaching experience at the tertiary level, having worked as a lecturer at the Department of English, the Language Centre, and the Distance Learning Programme, all at the University of Ghana. Beatrice is fueled by her desire to help develop the youth through education, character building, and entrepreneurial leadership.
As such, she has dedicated considerable amount of time to teaching, mentoring, coaching and counselling of young people in Ghana and abroad. Her passion is to ensure that young people gain the requisite knowledge to discover and maximize their full potential. She is a BUILD (Believe, Understand, Invent, Listen, Deliver) certified educator, of the Global Scholars Programme (GSP), at the African Leadership Academy, South Africa.
The three day camping summit goes for a cool 350gh cedis. This comes with accommodation, three times a day balanced diet, a trip to the island; send off dinner party among other things.
