Madonna might hint on the progress of her biopic. Months after it was reported that a movie about her life was no longer moving forward, the “Like a Virgin” hitmaker treated fans to pictures of her reunion with Julia Garner, the actress set to portray her.

On Tuesday, May 2, the 64-year-old songstress made use of Instagram Story to share the photos. In one of the snaps, she and the “Inventing Anna” actress could be seen snacking on french fries. Over it, she wrote, “B***h we’re Madonna! [face with tears of joy emoji].”

The Queen of Pop followed up the fries photo with another picture of her giving the 29-year-old actress a sweet hug as the two posed for the camera. She also let out a picture of them sandwiching photographer and filmmaker Steven Klein with a note that read, “Happy birthday Steven!!”

Madonna’s pictures seemed to have been taken when she and Julia joined Steven for his birthday celebration. They came more than three months after Variety reported that Universal Pictures put her biopic, which was set to be directed by the singer herself, on hold.

Despite the postponement, Julie previously spilled that she still had hope for the film to be made. When speaking to Entertainment Tonight in March, she positively stated, “Yeah, yeah. I don’t want to tell too much. I want to keep things… yeah, fingers crossed.”

Madonna first confirmed the development of her biopic back in September 2020. “I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world. The focus of this film will always be music,” she said in a statement at that time.

“Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision,” she added.
