Lola Consuelos is adding a few new words to her vocabulary.
On Thursday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, both 52, chatted about how their daughter Lola, 22, has added some British terms to her repertoire.
Reading a headline, Consuelos says, “‘‘Gen Z to Blame for Fast-Disappearing Southern Drawl, Y’all.’ So the southern states, a lot of northerners are moving down there… and it’s kind of diluting the accent a little bit.”
“Huh,” Ripa responds.
“I find, I know this is true of you as well, when we’re down there…” Consuelos says to his wife, who jumps in to say, “You say y’all immediately.”

“I start parroting whatever accent is thrown at me,” Consuelos agrees.
“We have whatever that mental disorder is where you put us in London, we’re British. You put us in France, we speak English with a French accent. And then a fake cigarette, always,” Ripa jokes.
“Yes, we do that,” Consuelos says.
“Who do we think we are?” Ripa asks. “We acclimate to the climate we’re in,” Consuelos responds.
“It’s gross!” Ripa says.
“I think it’s kind of funny,” the Riverdale actor says.

“I think we’re funny but our daughter’s embarrassed all the time. She’s like, ‘Mom, cringe — you’re not British,'” Ripa reveals.
“Although Lola Consuelos, who’s spent some time in London…” Consuelos begins.
“Spends all of her time in London,” Ripa adds of her daughter.
“…who has a British boyfriend, she’s started to have a strange little inflection,” Consuelos shares.
“No, she doesn’t have a British accent at all, she says things like, ‘The bin bag.’ She won’t say a trash bag, she says ‘bin bag.’ She says ‘rubbish.’ ‘Take out the rubbish.’ She’ll say, ‘I have to get that sorted.’ She’s getting things ‘sorted’ all the time,” the mom of three says to her husband.
“The next time she says something with a little bit of inflection on a certain thing, I’ll point it out to you,” Consuelos tells Ripa.
Alongside daughter Lola, Consuelos and Ripa share sons Michael, 25, and Joaquin, 20.
