Lizzo has celebrated Pride Month with more drag stars. Just a few weeks after bringing drag performers to her stage during her Knoxville concert, the “About Damn Time” hitmaker once again made use of her “The Special 2our” gig to invite drag stars onstage.
On Friday, June 2, the 35-year-old artist entertained her devotees at Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms, California when she brought along drag queens Kim Chi, Angeria Paris Van Michaels, and Kahanna Montrese. She was also joined by drag king Tenderoni.
At one point during her performance, the “Good as Hell” singer energetically swung a giant rainbow pride flag in the air. “Drag should not be criminalized,” she then emitted cheers and applause from concertgoers as she shouted into her microphone. “Drag is not a crime!”
Days after the California show, Lizzo shared a video from the gig via Instagram. Her Sunday, June 4 post offered a look at her performing in a sleeveless sparkling silvery long dress alongside the drag stars. Accompanying the footage, she expressed her support in the caption, “You’ve always had my back, and I’ll always have yours. Happy Pride.”
In that same caption, the “Truth Hurts” songstress did not forget to thank the drag queens and king who joined her on the stage by tagging their Instagram accounts one by one. She wrote, “Thank you @kimchi_chic @tenderoni88 @angeriavm @kahannamontrese,” and added a slew of heart emojis.

One of the drag stars, Tenderoni, turned to Twitter to share what went through their mind when it came to performing on stage with Lizzo. They stated in a tweet, “Still cannot believe I performed with @lizzo tonight!!!!!” In that same tweet, they also let out two videos documenting the performance from the show.
This was not the first time Lizzo brought along drag stars on to her stage. At her Knoxville concert back on April 21, she told the concertgoers, “In light of recent and tragic events and current events, I was told by people on the internet, ‘Cancel your shows in Tennessee,’ ‘Don’t go to Tennessee.’ ”
Lizzo further pointed out, “Their reason was valid, but why would I not come to the people who need to hear this message the most? … Why would I not create a safe space in Tennessee where we can celebrate drag entertainers and celebrate our differences?”
“What people in Tennessee are doing is giving hope, so thank you so much for standing up for your rights, protecting each other and holding the people accountable who should be protecting us,” she added.
