‘Little People, Big World’s Zach and Tori Roloff Share Parenting Advice They Wish They’d Known Sooner
The TLC stars opened up about the philosophy they follow on their podcast.
From dating to marriage and welcoming their three children, Zach and Tori Roloff have shared much of their lives on TLC’s Little People, Big World. Since the couple announced their decision to step back from the reality TV series, they have launched a podcast. And during their most recent episode, Tori and Zach dished on their top parenting advice.
On Thursday, March 21, the married couple—who share three kids, Jackson, almost 7, Lilah, 4, and Josiah, almost 2— published a parenting-centered episode of their Raising Heights podcast.
Tori explained toward the beginning how she adopted a nugget of wisdom from a family she used to babysit for when she was younger.
“Something I feel like I have learned from them and I think you and I really try hard to bring into our parenting is the idea of, ‘You don’t have to, you get to.'” Tori shared. “I feel like that shift in mindset is huge. I think that’s something that we use in our parenting all the time because it’s really important.”
Meanwhile, Zach pointed out that he and Tori could probably implement this more from their perspectives.
“I feel like we as parents, too, can adopt that more as well,” he said. “Like we don’t have to change the diaper, we don’t have to make dinner, we don’t have to drive them to wherever, we get to. We get to spend this time with them.”
“We don’t do this perfectly,” Tori admitted. “There are days we get tired, we get frustrated, we get exhausted. There are days that we struggle.”
She continued: “But I think that there are so many things that happen in our world that we can look back on our situation and say, ‘Gosh, we get to feel all these things. And what a privilege that is to get to feel exhausted from our kids.'”
