Lil Wayne Rewards 150 New Orleans Kids With ‘Weezy Christmas’ Party & Gifts
Lil Wayne made the holiday season that much more special for a group of teens in his hometown of New Orleans.
Wayne and Young Money president Mack Maine teamed up with Wilson for a Weezy Christmas to spread holiday cheer for 150 teens at a local Dave & Buster’s for a day of fun arcade games. Each kid was gifted with sports equipment of their choice as well, per TMZ.
“I want to personally wish each of you a Merry Christmas,” Weezy said in a video to the children. “And I know you love sports like I love sports, so I hit up my people at Wilson Sporting Goods to give you the gift of game. I specifically picked out everything myself, I hope you love everything and I hope you have an amazing holiday.”
Young Money is giving back to the community in multiple ways this holiday season as they’ve joined forces with the Son of a Saint mentor program and another athletic organization to promote sports in the Harrell Park neighborhood where Lil Wayne once called home.
“This Christmas @mackmaine4president & I wanted to give some future hall of famers the gift of game w/ the help of @Wilson ????????,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Making sure they received the necessary resources so they could enjoy all the benefits of being a top tier athlete was very important to us!”
Weezy F. Baby has a ton to be thankful for this time of the year as he earned his first diamond plaque last week after his 2008 hit “Lollipop” surpassed 10 million sales in the U.S.
“Welcome to the [diamond] club! @LilTunechi earns his first Diamond as #Lollipop reaches 10X multi-Platinum @RepublicRecords @CashMoney,” the RIAA wrote on Twitter while congratulating the New Orleans rap legend.
Wayne reacted to the news with a mix of shock, excitement and gratitude, taking the opportunity to thank his fans in an Instagram post celebrating his achievement.

Released in March 2008, “Lollipop” served as the lead single from Lil Wayne’s momentous sixth album Tha Carter III. Featuring Static Major, who tragically passed away just 16 days prior to its release, the song spent five weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and took home Best Rap Song honors at the 2009 Grammy Awards.
