The Top 5 dead or alive conversation is seemingly always brought up in the Hip Hop world.

Lil Wayne joined Nick Wright for the latest episode of his What’s Wright? With Nick Wright podcast on Thursday (May 5), where Weezy was asked to name his Top 5 rappers of all-time among numerous other topics inside music and sports.

If there’s one thing Wayne is going to do, it’s show love to Missy Elliott, whom he gave his top slot to.

“It’s always gonna be first Missy Elliott. She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done. JAY-Z is the best ever to speak. Biggie, obviously. Then I have the whole Goodie Mob. Then I have UGK.”

Missy Elliott got wind of Wayne’s latest praise and made sure to return the favor by thanking him on Twitter Thursday.

“Whenever @LilTunechi says my name in his interviews twitter don’t have enough space for me tosay my GRATEFULNESS because he is a LEGEND himself who birthed many emcees after him& as a man to acknowledge me as a big influence 4 him I send you love WAYNE,” she wrote.

“Another reason this warms my heart is because I’ve seen many times @LilTunechi has said my name over & over for years no matter who the interviewers are he has never been hesitant to say me as a female & for that I am forever GRATEFUL.”

In the past, Wayne has credited Missy with inspiring him to start using ad-libs on tracks. They’ve teamed up in the past on songs such as the leaked “All 4 U.”
