Lil Wayne Gives BLEU $50K Beat Price Boost – A Week Into His Production Career

BLEU already has a Lil Wayne collaboration in the works, but now he’s gone a step further by getting a production placement with Weezy.

The rapper formerly known as Yung Bleu took to Instagram on Monday (December 27) to share a video of him reacting to Lil Wayne picking one of his beats. BLEU also quoted Fat Joe while announcing his beat price is now $50,000 as a result of the Wayne co-sign.

“TO ALL YALL N-GGAS WHO WAS TALKIN SHIITTT !” he wrote in the caption. “LIL WAYNE PLACEMENT !!!! I want 50. should got it’s when it was cheap yesterday price not Today price what ya say @fatjoe @moonboyhitz.”

He also shared a tweet revealing he only started making beats a week ago. Aside from Wayne, the Alabama native has already worked with Kodak Black, Asian Doll and “Drip Too Hard” hitmaker Turbo in his nascent production career.

2021 DX Rising Star BLEU revealed Lil Wayne was recording a verse for him in November, sharing a text message from Weezy that read, “I might go more than 16 bars on the intro trak that’s kool?”

BLEU added, “When Wayne say this it’s Wayne song now.”

During an October interview with HotNewHipHop, BLEU described Lil Wayne as one of his favorite rappers and explained how he inspired him.

“Lil Wayne is definitely one of my favorite rappers,” he said at the time. “I feel like he just used to go so hard with the punchlines. Everybody just wanted to say and do them punchlines and see how creative they can get with punchlines. So that was kind of the wave I was on back in the days. Like, I was way more lyrical than I am now.”

He added, “I write songs now more for the feeling than the bars. I feel like, sometimes, bars will constrict you from getting across the truth, you know what I’m saying? ‘Cause, some shit might not rhyme, but the shit that you tryna say that’s really real.”

BLEU released his debut album Moon Boy in July, which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart with features from Drake, Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Jeezy, Gunna, 2 Chainz, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and more.
