Lil Uzi Vert took to the stage on the first night of Wrestlemania 39 this weekend — and he wasn’t the only Hip Hop superstar in attendance for the event.
On Saturday (April 1), the Philly rapper performed his song, “Just Wanna Rock” as the Usos — who were the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions — walked to the ring for their big match at the popular two-night Pay-Per-View event at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.
After his performance, Lil Uzi Vert gave an exclusive interview to WWE, where he shared how excited he was to perform at such a prominent wrestling event — and as it turned out, he’s a big wrestling fan.
“I can’t believe I’m here — I can’t believe I got to see so many people that I always wanted to see for all my life,” he said to host Cathy Kelley backstage after the performance. “It’s crazy.”
He also exclaimed that he was “ready to get in the ring” when he saw the Usos walking into the ring.
“But you know, you’ll see me — April. Philadelphia. 2024. So, you know — I don’t want to give up all the surprises, but you’ll see me there,” he teased, insinuating that he’d be performing at Wrestlemania 40, which is slated to be hosted in Philadelphia on April 6, 2024.

Lil Uzi Vert wasn’t the only Hip Hop star in the building for WWE’s main event. Before Rey Mysterio hopped back into the ring and defeated his son, Dominik, he got a visit from chart-topper Bad Bunny and rehearsed his entrance with Snoop Dogg.
The entrance music he used should sound familiar to wrestling fans, as it’s the theme song of late WWE superstar Eddie Guerrero.
After Tha Doggfather rolled in with Mysterio, he introduced reality-star-turned-wrestler Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who faced off against Pat McAfee.

Like Lil Uzi Vert, Snoop Dogg also gave an exclusive interview to WWE, where the “Murder Was the Case” rapper shared how important it was for him to be a part of the event.
“It felt good,” he told Cathy Kelley. “It’s like a homecoming … So many good fighters. So many good match-ups. I mean, this is a beautiful event. I’m happy that the team wanted me to be a part of it.”
But before he concluded the interview, he begged for his custom WWE belt back.

The second night of Wrestlemania 39 takes place on April 2 at the SoFi Stadium and is also available on Pay-Per-View.
Meanwhile, in other Lil Uzi Vert news, the rapper’s bodyguard was recently arrested for gun possession and allegedly posing as a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop in New York.
According to the New York Post, Uzi’s bodyguard, Kevin Nelson, was detained by NYPD in Manhattan last Monday (March 27) after he was caught carrying an illegal semi-automatic firearm.
Nelson was in the front passenger seat of a Ford F-450 that had been pulled over during a traffic stop at 100 Barclays Street around 5:30 pm. During that time, he also allegedly tried to lie to officers about being a cop.
NYPD quickly learned the 40-year-old Philadelphia resident was not an officer of the law and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal impersonation.
Lil Uzi Vet was not present in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
