Lil Durk‘s declaration of love to his ex-girlfriend India Royale did not appear to be welcomed – leading to the rapper deleting what he wrote.
The awkward situation went down on Tuesday (February 14), while social media was abuzz with love for Valentine’s Day.
“Happy Valentine’s Day to the woman that made me a man,” Lil Durk wrote on his Instagram Story with a photo of India. “I love you @indiaroyale”
The post was accompanied by a clip of Future’s 2014 song “I Won.”
Moments later, India seemingly responded in a series of Twitter posts – and she was none too pleased.
“People really do not respect boundaries at all,” India wrote. “I try my best to be respectful and not put on a show but people don’t respect my choices. Let it go.”

Catching wind of his ex’s response, Durk returned to his Instagram Story to stand firm in his original post – before deleting his entire story all together.
“I post cause I wanted to,” Lil Durk wrote in the since-deleted post. “The internet don’t run Durk. Try the troll with another MFr. Leave certain people alone.”
The once-engaged couple seemingly parted ways in September, made evident after India tweeted she was “a free agent” and stopped following Durk on Instagram. Once social media started buzzing about their potential split, Durk took to his Instagram Story to address all the commotion.
“That [cat emooji] mines 4ever welcome to death row bitch,” Durk wrote – to which India responded with a cap emoji on her story.
Fans have speculated the 7220 rapper allegedly cheated and may have got another woman pregnant, but neither Durk nor India have officially confirmed the rumors.
The couple began dating in 2017 and welcomed their first child, Willow Banks, the following year. In December 2021, Durk proposed to India during his set at WGCI’s Big Jam Concert in his hometown of Chicago.
“You know I love you to death and you’ve been holding me down when I was going through a lot,” Durk said on stage at the time. “You’ve been the realest to me and I love you to death. I’d smoke a muthafucka for you. So, do you want to be my wife?”
