Whilst we stubbornly refuse to legalize cannabis, a natural plant, whilst enjoying ‘cigarettes’ and alcohol, also intoxicating drugs but which haven’t been demonized; other countries continue to enjoy the benefits of legal marijuana.

In the U.S where the drug has been legalized in some states, already wealthy celebrities are jumping on board to make even more money.

Rapper Shawn Carter, professionally known as Jay-Z, is the latest to join that train. Mr Beyoncé has partnered a weed company known as Caliva to lead their outreach and creative departments.

Jay-Z’s official title at the company would be as ‘Chief Brand Officer’.

“We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good and bring people along the way,” Jay-Z said in a statement announcing his new venture.

The 49-year-old rapper was recently announced by Forbes as the first hip-hop artist to become a billionaire; partly due to his music success but mostly due to investments in numerous other businesses.

With the boom in marijuana since its legalization he’s set to add more wealth to his portfolio.
