Mo’Nique then went on to say she has a recording of Tyler Perry apologizing for blackballing her. Now, Lee Daniels has issued a formal public apology to Mo’Nique while they embraced each other on stage.

During Mo’Nique’s ‘April Fools Day with The Queen of Comedy’ event in Staten Island, Daniels made his way on stage and addressed Mo’Nique. “I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did.” Daniels gave more insight into what happened between them, saying, “Y’all, and she was my best friend — my best friend. Y’all think that ‘Precious’ was just … That was God working through both of us.” The director then said, “And we’re gonna f**king do it again!” News surfaced recently noting Lee Daniels was directing an exorcism movie for Netflix, and Mo’Nique is set to replace Octavia Spencer due to a scheduling conflict.
