Lauren London Pens Heartfelt Tribute To Nipsey Hussle On 4th Anniversary Of His Death

Lauren London is still keeping Nipsey Hussle close to her heart. Four years after the fatal shooting of her rapper boyfriend, the “You People” actress penned a heartfelt tribute honoring him on the 4th anniversary of his death.

On Friday, March 31, the 38-year-old actress took to Instagram and shared a series of black-and-white photos of the “Racks in the Middle” rapper. Along with it, she wrote a dedicated caption that read, “I hold my breath all of March knowing I have to face the memory of the day you transitioned.”

“Holding on to ancient wisdom but the pain is the pain and nothing was ever the same,” Lauren shared her grief over Nipsey’s death. Referring to her late beau’s birth name, she further expressed her love by noting, “Eternal Being Ermias Asghedom, I Love You.”

In the same post, Lauren also included a sacred writing from Baha’i. “To consider that after the death of the body the spirit perishes is like imagining that a bird in a cage will be destroyed if the cage is broken, though the bird has nothing to fear from the destruction of the cage,” she began to quote.

“Our body is like the cage, and the spirit is like the bird. We see that without the cage this bird flies in the world of sleep; therefore, if the cage becomes broken, the bird will continue and exist,” she continued.

The “Without Remorse” actress went on to write, “Its feelings will be even more powerful, its perceptions greater, and its happiness increased. In truth, from hell it reaches a paradise of delights because for the thankful birds there is no paradise greater than freedom. – Baha’i Sacred Writings.”

This tribute was not the first time Lauren talked about Nipsey’s passing in 2023. In a January’s episode of “PEOPLE Every Day” podcast, she got candid about how she felt as she moved forward with her life following her boyfriend’s tragic death in 2019.

At the time, Lauren received praises for her acting in new movie “You People”. Although she was happy to get the acknowledgement, she admitted she still experiences “the feeling of there’s one person you wished was here to watch the movie with you.”

Prior to the podcast appearance, the mother of two candidly opened up about her source of strength. “You know, when you lose someone, they’re on the other side wanting you to continue life, as well,” she stated on “The Drew Barrymore Show”. She added, “So, I just always think about what I know Nip would want me to do and what I know my children deserve. And what I deserve, too!”

Lauren and Nipsey shared a 6-year-old son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, together. In addition to Kross, she is a mother to 13-year-old Kameron Carter whom she shared with ex Lil Wayne.
