Latto (Mulatto) has responded to allegations that she edited a social media-shared shot of her Coachella crowd. Making use of her Instagram account, the “Big Energy” femcee shut down the speculations once and for all.
“Never photoshopped a crowd lmao,” the best new artist Grammy nominee stressed on Monday, April 17. “I expanded it so it would fit in my Instagram swipe without getting cut off but it was clearly [f**ked] up so I didn’t end up using it & just posted the wrong version by accident on Twitter babes.”
Latto denied Photoshopping her Coachella crowd photo.
Fans quickly defended Latto following her clapback. “This is just weird in general… Everyone knows how packed Coachella is,” one fan commented. “I saw videos from a fan in the crowd from her set. Idk how she can do it, y’all be hating on these female rappers like crazy! They can’t make a mistake, gotta be perfect etc. I’d be tired if I was her.”
Speculations that the “B***h From Da Souf” raptress edited the picture emerged after eagle-eyed followers noticed the same people being replicated in the crowd on both edges of the photo that Latto shared on Sunday. “You gotta photoshop crowds now … those ‘fans’ are edited,” one person pointed out on Twitter. Another user added, “girl wut- two of the same people. editing ain’t it.”
Latto performed at Coachella on Sunday, with Frank Ocean, Bjork, GloRilla, Kali Uchis, Rae Sremmurd, IDK, Willow Smith, Jackson Wang and Pi’erre Bourne among other performers. Latto hit the stage with fellow raptress Yung Miami to perform the remix to Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” track. She also brought Saweetie, Lola and TiaCorine who joined her onstage at Coachella for live versions of “B***h From Da Souf (Remix)”, “Don’t Play With It” and “Freaky T” respectively.
Meanwhile, Latto also made headlines for seemingly dissing Nicki Minaj, with whom Latto feuded on social media last year, during her set. Latto rapped in an unreleased song, “B***hes acting like they running s**t, they really ran through/ She thought I would kiss her a**, she mustn’t have took her meds.” She continued, “Say she got a problem, imaginary smoke/ B***h, you said it’s up, then put on the floor.”
TMZ also claimed that the femcee yelled while walking off the stage, “P***y h*e… Let a b***h know, we tired of the subtweets this year.”
