In light of Kanye West and Drake ending their yearslong beef, the two music/cultural giants have decided to connect for a Larry Hoover benefit concert to raise awareness and hopefully free the incarcerated gang/community leader.
During an interview with Drea O on the Drea O Show, Larry Hoover Jr. discussed how the benefit concert came together and said that his father was aware of the concert and revealed his thoughts about the upcoming event.
“Yeah, he’s aware of it, and he has to be concerned because he doesn’t know how it may affect him,” Hoover Jr. said. “He’s concerned that it may affect him negatively because it’s showing his influence, but his influence is positive. Him being an influential person, it just won’t disappear.”
Hoover Jr. also described what it meant to have two artists coming together as akin to Michael Jackson and Prince doing a show to free his father. “I didn’t think it would happen, but it was possible, but not probable,” he said.
