Kid Cudi Breaks Foot After Jumping Off Coachella Stage: ‘Never Broke a Bone Before So This Is All a Bit Crazy’
Kid Cudi didn’t have the best 2024 Coachella experience.
On Sunday, April 21, the “Day ‘n’ Nite” musician, 40, had to cut his set at the Sahara tent stage short due to injury, per fan-captured footage.
In the clip, Cudi can be seen stepping down on the stage in a white muscle tee and jeans before he twists his body to the side and rolls his ankle.
Following the incident, he posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share an update with his fans.
“Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show. just leavin the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy,” he wrote. “I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!! I love yall man. I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big.”

On Tuesday, April 16, Cudi was announced as a part of Coachella’s Weekend Two lineup.
In an Instagram post of the updated schedule, he was slated to perform from 5:10 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. at the Sahara tent.
“On the pursuit of happiness,” the caption read.
The rapper/singer filled in for Vampire Weekend, who performed during Weekend One — with a surprise appearance from Paris Hilton — and wouldn’t be playing during Weekend Two.
Cudi last performed at Coachella in 2019 where he concluded his set with a dedication to Nipsey Hussle and Mac Miller, singing “Pursuit of Happiness” to both artists, who had died the year before.
In March, the “Better Place” artist revealed he would be hitting the road this summer for the Insano World Tour — in support of his ninth studio album of the same name, which dropped in January — per Billboard.
Cudi will kick off the string of performances in Austin, Texas on June 28 and will visit arenas across the country throughout the summer.
Joining him on select dates will be collaborator Pusha T, as well as Jaden Smith, EARTHGANG, Chelsea Pastel and Siena Bella.
The Insano World Tour will include 43 shows throughout cities including New York City, Nashville, Philadelphia, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Detroit, his hometown of Cleveland, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, Las Vegas and Seattle.
The final show during the North American leg will take place in Los Angeles on Aug. 30 at the Crypto.com Arena.
