Kendrick Lamar Brings Out Kodak Black During Headlining Rolling Loud Miami Set

Kendrick Lamar received a helping hand from Kodak Black as he closed out Rolling Loud Miami on Sunday night (July 24).

During his headlining set on the third and final day of the annual Hip Hop festival at Hard Rock Stadium, the Compton native surprised the crowd by bringing out the “Super Gremlin” rapper as a special guest.

The pair performed their “Silent Hill” collaboration — from Kendrick’s latest album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers — together for the first time.

“Make some noise for my muthafucking n-gga, Kodak muthafucking Black,” Kendrick instructed the crowd as he embraced Kodak following the duet. “Love, love, love,” the hometown hero replied.

Kodak Black graced the main stage at Rolling Loud Miami earlier that evening for his own solo set. The 25-year-old was forced to wear a GPS ankle monitor while performing due to his recent drug trafficking arrest, for which he was placed on house arrest.

Elsewhere during his headlining set, Kendrick Lamar ran through more Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers tracks such as “N95,” “Count Me Out” and “Savior,” as well as familiar favorites from good kid, m.A.A.d city, To Pimp a Butterfly and DAMN.

His cousin and fellow pgLang representative Baby Keem also joined him on stage to perform their hit collaboration “family ties,” from Keem’s 2021 debut album The Melodic Blue.

Kendrick’s performance coincided with his global Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers Tour, which got underway in Oklahoma City last week. The massive, 65-date trek continues in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday (July 27).

Fortunately for K. Dot, his show avoided the kind of crowd trouble that marred Kid Cudi’s headlining Rolling Loud Miami set on Friday (July 22). The Cleveland native, who was drafted in as a last-minute replacement for Kanye West (who still showed up anyway), stormed off the stage early after being pelted by objects.

Future, meanwhile, enjoyed top billing on Saturday night (July 23) and brought out Travis Scott as a surprise guest, despite rumors that he was banned from Rolling Loud after 10 people died at his Astroworld Festival in Houston last November.
