Justin Timberlake Jokes He ‘Saw My Life Flash Before My Eyes’ When Travis Kelce Accidentally Knocked Him to the Ground
Justin Timberlake misjudged a fun moment with Travis Kelce — and ended up on the ground.
During an interview on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show, the “SexyBack” superstar recalled taking a tumble during a Las Vegas golf tournament with Kelce, fellow Kansas City Chiefs player Patrick Mahomes and the NBC series’ host, Jimmy Fallon.
“I had the greatest time,” said Fallon, 49, before showing a video of himself scoring an impressive bunker shot, leading the other three men to shout, run around and hug each other in celebration. “Even the other team was rooting for me. That’s how bad I am.”
After the SNL alum nailed his play, Timberlake ran around the course, and Kelce picked up Fallon for a hug. “Does that video keep going?” asked the *NSYNC member. “Because Travis Kelce almost — I saw my life flash before my eyes.”
“He went up and did one of those [side body bumps], you know, when they jump,” said Timberlake, 42. “And I was like, ‘He’s doing it. I have to do it.’ And I forgot that he weighs like 80 lbs. more than me.”
“You basically got tackled,” added Fallon, displaying the full video to show the moment — where Kelce, 34, jumped to bump into Timberlake and knocked him to the ground, sending his legs back over his head.
“Now, while that might not look like much,” explained Timberlake, telling the audience his neck was stiff “for about a week” after the golf outing.
“[People were like,] ‘What happened to you?’ Travis Kelce,” continued the Grammy winner. “He’s the best, by the way. [One of the] nicest guys ever.”
Elsewhere during the Tonight Show episode, Timberlake — who released a new single, “Selfish,” this week — announced his upcoming Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
The run will begin on April 29, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada, with tickets going on through Timberlake’s fan club on Jan. 29, Citi and Verizon presales on Jan. 30, and general on sale beginning Feb. 2.
The Forget Tomorrow World Tour will serve as promotion for Timberlake’s new album Everything I Thought It Was, which is set for a March 15 release.
