Julia Fox Finds Drew Barrymore’s Controversial Comment About Her Mom Relatable

Julia Fox apparently understands why Drew Barrymore came up with the controversial comment she made about her mother. After the host of “The Drew Barrymore Show” talked about feeling jealous of friends who have already lost their parents, the “Uncut Gems” actress openly claimed she found it relatable.

On Monday, June 5, 33-year-old Julia expressed her thoughts over 48-year-old Drew’s remarks about her mother Jaid Barrymore. In the comments section of Page Six’s Instagram post highlighting Drew’s interview, Julia simply wrote, “I can relate lmao.”

Julia was not the only one who could relate to Drew’s controversial comment. An Instagram user shared a similar view as reflected in the written comment that read, “I feel the same way. It’s not from a place of hate. It will just be lighter when she is gone. If you know, you know. If you don’t, try not to judge us.”

“You are coming from a place of the relationship YOU had with your parents, and what you were conditioned to allow in the sake of, ‘That’s your mother, show her respect,’ or anything that begins with ‘but, that’s your mom,’ ” the commenter continued. “Instead, be thankful you will never know the damage that must have happened to cause the adult child to feel this way, and then have empathy.”

Julia’s comment came shortly after Drew warned tabloids against twisting her words. In an Instagram video addressing claims that she wished her mother dead, the former “Santa Clarita Diet” star clarified, “I have never said that I wished my mother was dead. How dare you put those words in my mouth.”

The “He’s Just Not That Into You” actress fumed, “You know what, to all you tabloids out there, you have been f**king with my life since I was 13 years old.” She continued, “I have been vulnerable, and tried to figure out a very difficult, painful relationship, while admitting it is difficult to do while a parent is alive.”

“And that for those of us that have to figure that out in real-time, cannot wait as in they cannot wait for the time. Not that the parent is dead,” Drew further added. “In fact, I go on to say that I wish that I never have to live an existence where I would wish that on someone because that is sick.”
