‘Juju’ found on land designated for North East Regional RCC
Some residents of Gambaga and Nalerigu in the East Mamprusi Municipality in the newly created North East Region are still in a state of shock after some unknown persons placed some items believed to be ‘juju’ (black magic) on a parcel of land designated by the Mamprugu Traditional Council (TDC) for the construction of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).
The items, placed in a brown pot and covered with a calabash with blood stains and feathers splashed on it was placed on the land under a sign post with the inscription: “Property of Taran Ziblim, Taran, Yidana Taran Pabani, Taran Danaa, Taran Bukari skin land keep off!!!, strictly not for sale”.
The development, which is believed to be a warning to the government and the traditional authorities to stay away from the land has generated a lot of discourse and frightening rumours in the area.
Authorities have remained tight-lipped over the incident.
