John Stamos’ Birthday Tribute to Bob Saget Features Full House Reunion with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
“Bob was the heart of our ‘Full House’ family,” Stamos said
John Stamos and the cast of Full House are remembering Bob Saget on the late actor’s birthday.
On Friday, May 17, Stamos, 60, shared a sweet social media tribute in honor of his late costar and friend, who would’ve celebrated his 68th birthday.
“Happy Birthday Bob. This was taken as we gathered for his funeral,” the caption began.
The black-and-white Instagram photo saw Stamos standing with the Full House cast — Dave Coulier, Scott Weinger, Jodie Sweetin, and Candace Cameron Bure. The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, also made a rare appearance.

In addition to the show’s actors, Full House creator Jeff Franklin was also present.
“Though Bob wasn’t there physically, his spirit was unmistakably present, wrapping us in warmth and shared memories that drew both laughter and tears,” Stamos continued in his caption.
The group was seen posing together as they each leaned against a large Dumbo statue. The picture was taken at Stamos’ home, as documented in an April 2021 Instagram post with the same statue.
“That day, each of us felt the weight of his absence and the strength of the bond he nurtured among us. Bob was the heart of our ‘Full House’ family,” Stamos explained.
He added, “His legacy of kindness and compassion was evident in the faces around me, (on Dumbo) in the gentle ways we supported one another, echoing the love he always extended. We celebrated a life that was a true gift to us all.”
At less than a year old, Mary-Kate and Ashley, now 37, famously shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995.
However when Fuller House, a spin-off showcasing the Tanner sisters as adults, debuted in 2016, the twins chose not to reprise their roles.
During a May 2023 episode of the And That’s What You REALLY Missed podcast, Stamos admitted that he was initially “angry” at their decision.
“When I did Fuller House, they didn’t wanna come back. And I was angry for a minute,” Stamos said at the time. “And that got out.”
He added that Saget had been “very instrumental” in keeping the cast together. According to Stamos, one positive that came from Saget’s death was that it brought everyone back together, including the twins.
