Jimmy Fallon Spots Irony Of Donald Trump’s Running Mate Search
The “Tonight Show” host asked a damning question too.
Former President Donald Trump’s screening of his potential 2024 running mates provided the comic material for Jimmy Fallon’s jokes on Thursday’s episode of “The Tonight Show.”
Republican hopefuls including North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Tim Scott (S.C.) and J.D. Vance (Ohio) have all reportedly received vetting documents as presumptive GOP presidential nominee Trump narrows down his list of possible vice presidential candidates.
Fallon, though, said people have to “appreciate the irony of a convicted felon running a background check.”
Trump was last week found guilty on all 34 charges in hush money trial and remains the subject of three other criminal cases.
Fallon cracked, “My question is, ‘What they can possibly dig up that would be a red flag for Trump?’”
