‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Has The Best Response After Upsetting Taylor Swift Fans

Drew Goins had a “run-in with some angry Swifties” after he botched a Swift-related clue — but redeemed himself in the most wholesome way possible.

Look what you made Drew do.

“Jeopardy!” contestant Drew Goins redeemed himself in the eyes of Taylor Swift fans last week — and did it in a way that was so cute that the long-running game show couldn’t help but post about it on its official Instagram account.

On Jan. 6, Goins returned to the franchise for the “Second Chance Tournament” — a special two-week event that features contestants who didn’t win their regular games. Goins originally appeared on “Jeopardy!” in September, and at the time, he failed to answer an $800 clue in the “Grammy Album of the Year” category, which read: “The first of Taylor Swift’s record 4 Album of the Year Grammys was for this album in 2010.”

It was clear at the time that Goins had no idea that the answer was “What is Fearless,” because in response to the clue, he stood silent, looking around nervously and shaking his head.

So, when the Hawaii-based journalist returned last week, host Ken Jennings couldn’t help but ask him to explain a “run-in with some angry Swifties” he had miffed during his original appearance for botching that clue.

“I got a Taylor Swift question wrong, and went home worried that the Swifties would come rip me out of my bed one night.”

But it seems that there was one very vocal Swiftie who stoked a lot of Goins’ fears.

“It turns out that the angriest Swiftie was my brother, who’s here today,” the returning contestant explained as the camera panned to Goins’ brother, Zach Goins, who waved in the audience.

And it seems that Zach wasn’t going to let Drew blank space on another Swift-related clue ever again.

Drew explained to Jennings that the night before his “Second Chance” appearance was taped, his brother “had prepared an entire practice board for me.”

Drew implied that he thought the board would have a variety of categories and clues, but it ended up being “entirely Taylor Swift.”

Although his brother’s practice board seems like nothing more than some hilariously petty sibling jeering, it ended up pretty beneficial for Drew.

Later on during the Jan. 6 episode, Drew chose a $200 clue in the “Albums” category, which read: “In 2014 Taylor Swift gave us this album named for a different year.”

“What is 1989!” Goins screamed excitedly while delivering the correct answer, which prompted the entire studio audience to erupt with laughter.
