Jason Kelce has broken his silence after fans said he did the “most dad thing” ever while attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Miami with his wife, Kylie, and two oldest daughters, Wyatt, 5, and Elliotte, 3.
The Eagles legend was caught on camera seemingly sleeping during the three-hour set, which he’s previously called “insanely impressive.” But on this week’s episode of New Heights with his brother, Travis Kelce, he set the record straight.
“We gotta talk about it,” the tight end trolled his brother. “You took a nap at the Eras Tour! What is that all about?!”
“I did not take a nap,” Jason replied assuredly. “Travis, you know I didn’t take a nap. I did not take a nap.”

“How are you… this show is absolutely electric. It’s the greatest show that’s ever been on stage and you’re over here falling asleep?” he continued to rib his brother, who agreed that “Tay is killin’ it.”
Shortly before the snapshot was taken, his middle daughter, Ellie, was “just with [him].”
“We were dancing and I was sitting down so I’m on the same level with her and I’m trying not to—we’re out in the middle of the open right here,” he explained, pointing out that it was not a private suite like they’ve had the opportunity to sit in previously. “So I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m gonna sit down and not be…in a fishbowl.'”
Per Jason’s retelling, he was just “feeling it” as he tapped his thigh “in the moment.” Not long after, he opened up Twitter and saw the photo, which, as it turns out, was taken by none other than his best friend and former Eagles teammate Beau Allen—who fans somehow mistook for his wife during the show.
“I’m not even sleeping and I can prove it to you! There’s evidence in this photo that I’m not sleeping,” he insisted. “My hand is hovering! You can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee; it’s impossible…that’s because I’m slapping my leg!”
