Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband Christopher Guest made a rare public appearance together in support of Jodie Foster.
The couple, who have been married for four decades, attended Foster’s hand-and-footprint ceremony at the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood on Friday, April 19, where Curtis, 65, introduced the honoree.
Curtis and the Best in Show filmmaker, 76, sat with Foster, 61, and her wife Alexandra Hedison, 54. Other attendees included True Detective: Night Country writer-director Issa Lopez and swimmer Diana Nyad and Bonnie Stoll — whom Foster played in the 2023 Netflix film, Nyad.
When it came time for Curtis to introduce the honoree, she praised Foster for “her abundant Academy Award-winning talent [and] her fierce dedication to her work” for nearly 60 years.
“She’s a creative force and is committed to the work she loves with great performances from that very young age of 3 to this last year at 60 as Bonnie Stoll in Nyad and her brilliant work as Liz Danvers in [True Detective: Night Country],” Curtis said. “She is also a loving wife and a dedicated mother to her two grown sons.”
The Freaky Friday actress also mentioned Foster’s “great respect for education,” jokingly adding a “Whatever,” when she mentioned that her peer graduated from Yale.
“She has many well-earned shiny things, recognizing her beautiful work as an artist and as a human. Jodie has intelligence, passion, and an internal and external stride and sense of purpose that makes everyone around her feel better about themselves and about what they’re doing together,” Curtis continued.
She claimed that these were all just “mere glimpses of Jodie.”
“Impressions, if you will, made like hands and feet pressed into the ground, forever reminding us of the person we feel we know,” she added.
Curtis said when Foster isn’t acting, she enjoys discussing “sports and politics,” and “she spends a lot of time reading the news and doing Spelling Bee” and also “loves parades.”

Before ending her speech, Curtis noted that “today, April 19th, 2024, is also the actual 10th anniversary of her marriage to Alex. And that lets us all know that the stars have indeed aligned, the circle of creativity and community and friendship is complete.”
When Foster took the stage, she thanked everyone for “getting all dressed up and crossing the 405” to celebrate her.
The Silence of the Lambs star spoke to PEOPLE at the ceremony, saying she “grew up 10 blocks from here,” so to now have her prints cemented there is a “symbolic stance.”
While the Halloween actress and Guest usually keep their relationship out of the spotlight, he was by her side when she was honored with her own hand-and-foot ceremony in 2022 and at the 2023 Oscars when she won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, and thanked her “beautiful husband” during her acceptance speech.
The pair tied the knot in 1984, within six months of their first date.
“It’s hard to talk about Chris, because all you’re going to hear is the word ‘great,’” Curtis told PEOPLE in 1994. “He’s a great listener, a great athlete, a great husband and father.”
