Jamie Foxx is showing positive progress amid his ongoing recovery following a recent health scare. The actor is reportedly getting “better,” two days after he was rushed to the hospital due to “medical complication.”
Sources allegedly with direct knowledge tell TMZ that the 55-year-old actor/comedian “is doing a lot better” and even able to joke with his family while he remains hospitalized. However, he may need to stay in the hospital at least a few more days as doctors need to perform tests because they haven’t “gotten to the bottom of what happened to him,” according to the site.
Jamie’s daughter Corinne Foxx broke the news of her father’s medical emergency on Wednesday, April 12. She revealed that the “Django Unchained” star was taken to the hospital on Tuesday, but didn’t not divulge his condition aside from calling it a “medical complication.”
“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” the 29-year-old actress posted on her social media page. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
The “47 Meters Down: Uncaged” star turned off the comments on the post, but added in her statement, “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Following the news, TMZ claimed that Jamie’s condition was serious enough that his family, someone of whom were not in town, rushed to be by his side. He, however, was “communicating” on Wednesday, with a source noting “that’s good news.”
Meanwhile, Jamie’s “Ray” co-star Kerry Washington has sent her prayers to the Oscar-winning actor. “A @iamjamiefoxx appreciation post. Sending you all the love and prayers my movie huzbin,” the actress wrote along with a picture of her snuggling up to Jamie.
One day prior to his hospitalization, Jamie was still spotted working on his new movie “Back in Action”. He was pictured on Monday on the set in Atlanta, wearing kneepads and matching soccer uniforms as he was filming on a soccer field with a group of girls.
It’s currently unknown how Jamie’s hospitalization will affect the production schedule. The movie also stars Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz.
