James Gunn’s “Suicide Squad” Will Be A Complete Reboot

“First of all, we don’t call it Suicide Squad 2’ cause it’s a total reboot, so it’s The Suicide Squad and I think people should be extremely excited about it,” explains Producer Peter Safran, to Joblo. Insofar as the script expectations, Safran promises that Gunn has delivered on that count. “It’s everything you would hope from a James Gunn script and I think that says a lot and that promises a lot and I know that we will deliver a lot,” he reveals.

Now, with the film set to begin production later this year, and Idris Elba already slated to pick up Deadshot’s glocks, all signs point to a resuscitated franchise on the horizon. James Gunn has already showcased his masterful touch with Guardians Of The Galaxy (though part two suffered from a slight sophomore slump), and it would be nice to see the DC rogues gallery done justice on this go-around.
