It’s better to support your own – 2Face advises Ghanaians

Spread the love

Legendary Nigerian singer 2Face has advised Ghanaians to support their own artistes after testing their love for local hit songs at the 2019 African Legends Night in Accra.

2Baba, as he is now known, took the thrilled audience at the Grand Arena Dome inside the Accra International Conference Centre through hit Ghanaian songs such as Stonebwoy’s Go Higher, Kidi’s Odo, Kuami Eugene’s Walahi and King Promise’s Selfish.

They passed his test a few seconds into each song when the DJ stopped the music and the whole arena sang the lyrics word for word.

“Thank you for supporting music. Thank you Ghana for supporting us, Ghanaian music and African music,” a happy 2Face said after performing his songs If Love Is A Crime, For Instance, True Love and the global hit, African Queen.

In recent years, Ghanaian songs have taken over the airwaves unlike in the past when the country’s radio was saturated by American and Nigerian songs. Many campaigns were launched and championed by local artistes to embrace their songs and they’ve somewhat proven successful.

The eighth edition of the African Legends Night was put together by Global Media Alliance featuring African legends such as Awilo Longomba, 2Baba, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah, Bless, Kofi Nti and Barosky.
