I’m angry with Shatta Wale for wearing US coloured attire on VGMA stage – Mark Okraku Mantey
Renowned producer and programmes manager for Accra-based Hitz 103.9FM Mark Okraku Mantey has stated that he is angry with a big brand like Shatta Wale not promoting his motherland when he has the stage.
According to him, Shatta Wale on numerous occasions proved that he doesn’t support his motherland and the recent one was when he mounted the VGMA Experience concert last Saturday where he mounted the stage in an American flag type of attire.
“How can a big act like Shatta Wale wear a shirt filled with the US flag on a big stage like the VGMAS? I was so angry when he took off his yellow jacket and what was left on him was that shirt filled with US colours and the US Flag”
He added that “Instead of selling Ghana wearing something more Ghanaian, he rather wore a shirt containing the US Flag. In Jamaica, almost all their top acts make sure they wore something in their Jamaican colours. Especially, this year, we have the year of Return, and a big act like him rather decided to wear something US, how?
Remember Shatta Wale some months ago mounted the O2 Arena stage in London in the United Kingdom and stated the ‘Ghana is a village’ are comment that many people bashed him for and asked that he apologize for his comment but he is yet to.
