I’ll marry when I’m ready; stop disturbing me – Nana Aba Anamoah
Outspoken Ghanaian journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah has chastised the public for constantly probing about her unmarried status.
Speaking in an interview on AccraFM, the petite mother of one who was asked if she was worried about her single mother status said she does not see a reason that should be a bother.
Ms Anamoah retorted: “Why would I be worried that I am not married? Are you worried that you are not dead?” she asked the host.
“I will marry when I am ready”, she said.
She was of the view that marriage is not what will guarantee her happiness.
“No one can be forced to get married; I don’t think there is anybody in this world who said that I hate marriage and nobody can also say that everything will be fine when they get married.
“If it happens, it happens; if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. You don’t go around chasing shadows”.
She also expressed disgust about how society puts pressure on women to marry before a certain age.
“I don’t think it’s right for people to disturb anybody with marriage.
“There are people who are married and they are very happy, and we are also happy for them. Likewise, there are people who are married and they are sad, their life has become worse and we want them out of those marriages”, she observed.
