Media personality and comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger has debunked rumours that she together with some other celebrities were invited for a ‘meet and greet’ session with American rapper, Cardi B.
There was a lot of buzz on social media Sunday night after the comedienne and others went on a spree with short videos expressing their frustration over being kept waiting by the rapper whom they were supposed to meet.
According to them, Cardi B who was in Ghana for a concert scheduled for Sunday, December 8 snubbed them and was rather cooling off by the poolside at the Kempinski Hotel where they were supposed to have met the rapper.
Fans took to social media to mock the celebrities for dressing up to go meet the rapper only to be stood up.
Hours after the brouhaha, Cardi B, however, took to her Instagram page to apologise for keeping the celebrities waiting, stating she was not informed of any meeting at the time.
Speaking to Giovani on the 3FM Drive Monday afternoon, Afia Schwarzenegger said they were not invited for an open ‘meet and greet’ session, and that they were to dine privately with Cardi B.
“I got a call through my publicist that they wanted a private lunch with some selected celebrities including myself,” she said.
“When I entered, my first surprise was that the setting didn’t look like a private lunch setting, it was a cocktail set up with no seats.”
“We didn’t go for a meet and greet, nobody told us it was a meet and greet,” she explained.
The vocal media personality noted if she was informed it was a ‘meet and greet’ session as purported, she would not have been there.
According to her, the whole incident was a ploy to humiliate Ghanaian celebrities.
She lashed out at organizers for not apologising for keeping them waiting with no explanation 24-hours after the incident.
