Singer Simi has refuted a claim by colleague Naira Marley that she snubbed him at an event following his stance on the ongoing yahoo controversy.
Naira Marley had in a post said: “Simi I don’t give a fvckAbout your marriage. I saw you and asked you a question and you were acting up”
But the wife of Adekunle Gold says nothing of a sort happened, stressing that she could not recall spotting Marley at any event.
Simi further noted that she has nothing against Marley hence will do no such thing.
Few weeks ago, Simi condemned internet fraud and Yahoo boys and asked them to boycott her music if they want.
She said: “Common guys, you don’t have to like me, you don’t have to listen to my music, you don’t have to send me, but you see, I am not the enemy. I can easily sit down and pretend that nothing is wrong and just make money, smile, cheers blah blah, but the thing is, I care too much, if I didn’t give a sh*t, I wouldn’t say anything. I’ve had friends that have done Yahoo. I’ve had friends that have thought about it.”
Since then, several celebrities, including Davido, Samklef, Naira Marley and 2Baba have shared their views on the act. 2Baba for instance argues that it is a retaliatory practice.
He says: “We are trying 2 recover our forefathers money.”
His argument was nothing different from Naira Marley’s as he says Yahoo is not much of a crime compared to slavery.
“If you know about slavery, you go know sey Yahoo no b crime,” he said.
