I didn’t diss Shatta Wale during my VGMA performance – Sarkodie
Sarkcess music CEO Sarkodie has refuted claims that he dissed his one-time brother and colleague Shatta Wale on stage during his performance at the recently held VGMA some few weeks ago.
According to Sarkodie in an interview with George Quayeon Joy FM disclosed that his rap freestyle performance on the awards night was not directed to Shatta Wale but it was just to draw attention and make people talk about it.
“My first song during the VGMA’s was not directed at anyone. The song was to create attention, It’s for anyone. I just wanted people to talk about it,” he said.
In his rap freestyle on the night, he stated that when he is sitting on his own people say he doesn’t want to help other people and when he finally tried helping someone(Strongman) these same people are now saying he is overshadowing him.
And the lines that got people saying he was indirectly throwing jabs at Shatta Wale was when he said in the song that people should tell Shatta Wale that if he continues to think about him then he is kidding because if an old man like him would continue to fool then that is his own issue.
He went on to say that the stage at which he is now he doesn’t want to engage in any childish play stating that maybe it’s Opana’s(Shatta Wale) dream to trend on Twitter but he is always available and when he (Shatta) comes back to his senses he can call him because they are still brothers.
