Gospel artiste, Joyce Blessing, is certain to create controversy with her emphatic statement that she is the best female performer in Ghana. “I know some Ghanaians will say I am blowing my own horn but it is a fact. I am the best when it comes to rocking the stage and no female artiste can contest me,” she told Graphic Showbiz in an interview.
According to Joyce Blessing, her stage performances over the years are ample testimony of what she is saying.
“I have never disappointed at any event I have been billed and that is probably because I put in my all.
“I can perform for hours and sing any song that comes to mind be it Highlife or Dancehall and that makes my performance interesting all the time. I always want to entertain the audience who spend their hard-earned money to come for a show,” she said.
Known for songs such as Agyebum, The Lord’s Prayer, Heavy Price, Boot 4 Boot, La Mia Praise, Aseda Nkoaa, Holy One, Ancient of Days, Bread of Heaven and Adam Nana, Joyce Blessing appealed to her colleagues to entertain their fans when they mount the stage.
“I always put myself in the shoes of the fan who pays to come and watch his favourite musician perform.
“At the end of the day if the fan gets home disappointed because the musician couldn’t deliver then it would have been better if the fan had stayed at home,” she said.
Come Sunday, December 15 at the Alive Chapel in Tesano, Accra, Joyce Blessing will stage a concert dubbed: “Doxado.”
The singer says the concert is to thank the Lord for what He has done for her. Other musicians who will be joining Joyce Blessing for the concert are Piesie Esther, Francis Amo, Tagoe Sisters, S.P Sarpong, Yaw Sarpong and Obaapa Christy.
