Victory Wembanyama took over the NBA by storm in 2023-24. Now, he looks to do the same at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he will be playing once again in front of his home country.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs headlines France’s Olympic basketball roster alongside Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert. France medaled with silver in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, falling to the United States in the gold medal game.
While the task won’t be easy to seek revenge against the Americans, Wembanyama does have the advantage of experience playing against the U.S.’s top talent — including Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Joel Embiid — that he will look to use in Paris. Another advantage: his tremendous height, which — coupled with his ball-handling skills — made challenging for NBA teams to defend him this past season.

Here’s what you need to know on Wembanyama heading into the 2024 Paris Olympics, including his height and stats:
Victor Wembanyama height
On the Spurs official roster, Wembanyama is listed at 7-foot-4. However, there is some disparity in Wembanyama’s height, as the NBA listed his height at 7 feet, 3 1/2 inches after the 2023 NBA Draft.
“He plays the right way, plays to win. I’ve never seen anything like him. I don’t know how tall he is, he’s not 7-3. He’s way taller. Whoever says he’s 7-3, that’s a lie,” Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis jokingly said about Wembanyama’s height in January.
He was the tallest player on the Spurs last season, with Zach Collins being the closest in height to Wembanyama at 6-11.
Victor Wembanyama wingspan
Wingspan: 8 feet
Per ESPN in February 2023, Wembanyama has a wingspan of 8 feet. While that has yet to be officially confirmed by the NBA or Spurs, it would rank third in NBA history, behind only Tacko Fall’s 8-2 wingspan and Manute Bol’s 8-6 wingspan.
