Gunna has unleashed his first album since he was released from prison. On Friday, June 16, the “Pushin P” hitmaker released a project called “a Gift & a Curse”, which consists of 15 tracks.
The album has no guest appearances from any artists. As for the songs, they include, “back at it”, “back to the moon”, “idk nomore”, “paybach”, “ca$h $hit”, “fukumean”, “rodeo dr”, “bottom”, “p angels”, “born rich”, “go crazy”, “turned your back”, “i was just thinking”, “alright” as well as “bread & butter”.
The last track arrived earlier this month. The tune itself sees Gunna reflecting on his RICO case while slamming other rappers who switch on him amid his snitching accusations.
“F**k I pay the lawyers all those mills for?/ Just so I won’t have to say a word to dodge a railroad,” he rhymes. “Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ’em/ On whatever you n***as on, then trust me, I’ma stand on it/ Lawyers and the D.A. did some sneaky s**t, I fell for it/ On my Ps and Qs because this time, I be prepared for it.”
Gunna also suggests that he keeps loyal to Young Thug, who is still currently behind bars. “Never f**ked a n***a, always stayed solid/ Kept it real with n***as, never lied and always stay honest.” He goes on, “Love my bro so much, I never change on ’em/ Hunna Wunna goin’ do the work, bring you the damn profits.”
“Peepin’ s**t, I’m seein’ n***as fall back/ You b***h-a** n***as got me as the topic of the chat,” he goes on. “You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat/ And the boy that’s like your brother, and nobody speak on that.”
While Gunna didn’t mention any name, the lyrics prompted fans to assume that he threw shade at Lil Durk and Lil Baby. Gunna, however, denied that he took a low-key dig at Baby, saying, “That’s Capp… I’m just lettin’ the world hear my story.
