Gunna could be behind bars until next year.
On Monday, a judge in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia denied the “pushin P” rapper bond following his RICO indictment and set his trial date for January 2023.
According to Billboard, prosecutors allege that Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, is a “documented” member of the alleged YSL gang. They also allege that he and Young Thug can “direct their troops” to commit violent acts.
“They are the ones directing the violence,” claimed one prosecutor from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. “They direct their troops.”
I was just in court where a judge denied bond for Gunna and set his trial date for Jan. 9, 2023. Prosecutors allege YSL is a gang, not just a record label. They also alleged Gunna serves in a “command” role. More to come for @billboard

Gunna’s trial is slated for Jan. 9, 2023. At the court hearing, a judge said his biggest concern was witness intimidation if the rapper was released on bond. Gunna and his legal team can file a renewed motion for bond at a later date.
“The court was obviously concerned about threats and intimidation of witnesses,” Gunna’s attorney Steven Sadow told Billboard. “We believe when the court hears evidence, not just the words of the prosecutor, it will find that Sergio’s release on bond will not, directly or indirectly, pose a significant risk to witnesses. We look forward to having an evidentiary hearing on this as soon as the court permits.”
Young Thug, who was previously denied bond, was also scheduled to go before a judge on Monday, but his hearing was postponed.
Both rappers were named in an 88-page indictment against dozens of members of Young Slime Life, which includes charges ranging from drug and gun possession to murder.
They are accused of possession and intent to sell a variety of narcotics, receiving stolen property, and for general street gang activity. Additionally, they were charged with being part of a larger criminal enterprise comprised of YSL associates who were allegedly involved in a series of crimes, including the attempted murder of YFN Lucci.
