Growing up without a father was very bad – Komfuor Kolagae recounts sorrows

Talented Kumawood actor, Collins Oteng, who is popularly known as Komfuor Kolagae has revealed that growing up as a young lad on the streets of Kumasi with his mother and three other siblings was very difficult because his father had left them to their fate when they were very young.

Speaking on the ‘Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix’ show, the actor stated that even though it was tiresome, the one things that always helped him for forge on in those difficult times was the thought that all their struggles were going to end one day and as such he was never perturbed.

The ‘Devil’s Ring’ actor also told Zionfelix that as the first male son, much was expected of him because in the Akan traditional system a male son is expected to shoulder the responsibilities of the father. But in all of these, he struggled just like a man should do and by the grace of God, he has been able to achieve something small, which has made the family a little relieved.

Asked if his father had made any attempt to get in contact with him after he because a popular in the movie industry, Komfuor Kolagae stated that he had. He added that his mother called him some time ago with the information that his father who left him when he was small, had come to request for his son who is fully grown to cater for him.

He stated that it was quite surprising but he has had some interaction with him which is all he got because he does not have what is called father’s love for him since he walked out of their lives before he could even know him.
