Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt and Tavia Shackles, spoke about how her mom encouraged Travis Kelce to buy Swift, 34, a Minaudieres Swarovski microphone clutch, but, when Kelce, also 34, didn’t buy it for Swift, the Hunt family did.
Gracie revealed to Page Six that she and her mom, 52, attended a Neiman Marcus event to look at “an exclusive collection that [Judith Lieber] did with them” when they spotted the purse, which retails online for $4,995.
“My mom actually sent Travis a message saying, ‘Hey, like, you need to get her this,’ and he sent her a message back and was, like, ‘I don’t even know if she likes that,’ ” Gracie the outlet.
“My mom was, like, ‘Well if you’re not [going to get it], this is our birthday present for Miss Taylor because she needs this,’ ” she added. “All women love sparkly things.”
After the Chiefs tight end passed on an opportunity to scoop the fashion accessory for Swift, the Hunts gave it to her as a birthday gift when the pop star turned 34 on Dec. 13.
Tavia later confirmed the contents of the gift on Instagram, per The Kansas City Star.
Gracie, who called Swift both “smart” and “kind,” told Page Six that the pop star is “absolutely incredible, bright, beautiful, so talented and it’s been so fun for all of America to cheer for this love story.”
“To watch two fantastic people just find happiness together, that’s something that we can all come together and cheer for,” she added.
Gracie confirmed to PEOPLE on Saturday that the pop superstar would be making an appearance at Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where the Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers.
“She’s coming! She’s coming! We’re excited,” Gracie said at the Fanatics Super Bowl Party red carpet.
While Swift hasn’t confirmed her attendance herself, it has long been speculated that she will cheer on Kelce since the Chiefs officially secured their Super Bowl appearance last month.
On Jan. 28, Kansas City defeated the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 at M&T Bank Stadium in the AFC Championship, where Swift celebrated on the field with her Super Bowl-bound boyfriend.
The “Karma” singer has attended 12 Chiefs games so far, and recently departed Tokyo after 4 back-to-back Eras Tour shows at the Tokyo Dome, leading fans to believe that she is en route to Vegas.
Swift reflected on her “wonderful” time performing in Japan with a heartfelt message to Swifties on Instagram Saturday, in which she told fans that she “missed you all so much and loved being on stage frolicking around with my fellow performers and band again.”
“Thank you to everyone who lives in and around Tokyo, and everyone who traveled far and wide to be there with us,” Swift added.
