The ‘RHOC’ star has addressed her relationship with Mullen after he and his kids moved out of their shared home during the latest episode of the Bravo show
Gina Kirschenheiter is giving an update on where she stands with Travis Mullen after he moved out of their shared home.
On the July 25 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Gina, 40, spoke about her current relationship with the Orange County realtor, noting that while they remain together, they are still working through some of their issues.
“It’s good, it’s really good,” The Real Housewives of Orange County star said of their duo’s relationship, adding, “We had a bad year and we’re still not through all of it but we’re handling it well.”
When host Andy Cohen asked a fan question about her response to her costar Tamra Judge having never known anyone who “lived with their partner for years, moved out and then stayed together,” Gina admitted that she understood it wasn’t the norm, but it worked for the couple.
“You know what, I understand that it didn’t make sense to everybody at first and I know that it does make sense to Tamra now,” Gina hared. “So you know, I can’t worry about everybody’s opinions.”
Her appearance on WWHL comes after the July 25 episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County showed Gina making the tough decision to have her boyfriend of four years and his kids move into a separate house. She explained that she felt like they needed space, but he didn’t agree.
“I feel overwhelmed, I feel there is a lot to figure out,” Travis said, adding that their relationship was going to become “more like adult dating.”
“Today is not a great day,” Gina explained. “S— doesn’t get real until it’s real, and it’s real.”
“It’s just hard to watch you moving out of our house,” she went on to tell Travis. “It’s just confusing because we’re not breaking up and I don’t want us to break up.”
After questioning if this was “a mistake,” Gina said she does feel like she made the right decision, but also realized how much their relationship was going to change.
“It’s about me and needing space from Travis’ past,” she admitted in her confessional. “His ex makes things incredibly difficult for him and for me, and he feels responsible for it. I’m choosing myself and my three kids over our family as a whole.”
However, when the real estate agent mentioned doing what was best for the kids to Travis, he snapped back, making it clear that he thought the kids would never choose to be apart.
“I think you need to stop saying this is about the children because you made this decision,” he said. “I think that the kids would prefer to be in this space as one, and I can’t say I disagree.”
“I don’t want you to resent me because of this,” she responded, as he said, “Good thing for you is for whatever reason, I don’t hold onto things.”
Before the move-out, Gina and her three kids — Nicholas, 11, Sienna, 9, and Luca, 8 — lived with Travis and his three children in a three-bedroom townhouse. While Gina said the pair had discussed finding a bigger home together, it was not a financially responsible decision.
“It’s hard because you have so much guilt and I don’t know if this is a mistake and it might be, but I just know that if we don’t try this, it will end and I will be heartbroken and I don’t want to have to go through that again,” she said as she cried to the cameras.
