EMINEM GETS RESPONSE FROM ‘REAL HOUSEWIVES’ STARS OVER ‘SHADY’ TRADEMARK BATTLE

Eminem has now heard from Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon in regard to the duo’s Reasonably Shady podcast and The Real Housewives of Potomac stars are fighting back.

According to RadarOnline, Bryant and Dixon filed legal documents opposing Eminem’s attempt to block them from trademarking Reasonably Shady.

The podcast boasts over five million downloads since launching in 2021 while covering an array of topics including marriage, relationships and more.

The hosts are seeking to obtain a trademark for Reasonably Shady and Eminem isn’t with the duo’s inclusion of his Shady moniker, which he and his attorneys believe could cause some confusion in the marketplace.

Em’s legal team filed documents to block Bryant and Dixon’s trademark application as they felt it could also be damaging to his lucrative brand, but the Bravo reality stars aren’t going down that easy.

“[Robyn & Gizelle’s] mark REASONABLY SHADY, simply looks and sounds like SHADY and suggests that it represents the services of Mathers,” the Detroit icon’s legal team wrote.

“REASONABLY SHADY so resembles Opposer’s mark SLIM SHADY, SHADY and the mark SHADY LIMITED in terms of appearance, sound and commercial impression as to be likely, when applied to [Robyn & Gizelle’s] goods, to cause confusion and mistake and to deceive.”

Em currently owns the trademark for “Shady” to use on merchandise and has exclusively used “Slim Shady” and “Shady” for entertainment services since 1998.

He’s called for them to not be allowed to sell any merchandise with the podcast title included as Dixon and Bryant filed to trademark “Reasonably Shady” with plans to sell products such as water bottles, lip gloss, sweatshirts, hats, jackets and socks.

However, Bryant and Dixon claim they weren’t given “actual notice of [Eminem’s] prior rights in the names and marks Slim Shady, Shady and Shady Limited before adopting and seeking to register.”

The Real Housewives stars are asking the United States Patent and Trademark Office to continue to accept their application despite Em’s rebuttal as they don’t see any issues between the two entities.
