Effutu MP gives 1,500 mathematical sets to BECE candidates
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Alex Afenyo-Markin has donated 1,500 mathematical sets to candidates writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) within the area.
The donation is to support the future leaders for the area.
Making the presentation on June 3, 2019, at the Municipal Education Office, Hon. Afenyo-Markin seized the opportunity to motivate and inspire the candidates.
He told them that they have no excuse than to perform well in the exams so that they can also enjoy the Free SHS, H.E Nana Akufo Addo has instituted for all Ghanaian children.
He pledged to support them after their Examinations.
He, therefore, advised them not to rely on ‘Apor’ but rely on their books.
He also seized the opportunity to wish them very best of luck.
The candidates assured Mr Afenyo-Markin, they will put to good use the Mathematical Sets they have received and also work hard to make the grades so that they can also be beneficiaries of the government’s Free SHS policy.
Other support from Effutu MP
The MP also presented some brand new HP Laptops to 15 teachers in the Effutu Municipality.
They were the last batch of teachers to receive their laptops as part of Hon. Markin’s ‘One Teacher One Laptop’ (1T1L) initiative in his constituency.
This means a total of 613 teachers have benefited from the one Laptop per teacher project by the MP for the area.
