Drake’s October World Weekend Rescheduled For This Weekend: ‘Negative Test, Positive Outcome’

Drake has announced a rescheduled date for the previously postponed final day of his October World Weekend which was set to host a Young Money reunion.

Forced to cancel the final date of his Toronto festival earlier this week after testing positive for COVID-19, the 6 God has now revealed that he’s testing negative for the virus and his hometown shindig is happening this weekend.

Posting a flyer to Instagram on Thursday (August 4), Drake will now host Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj for the Young Money reunion on Saturday (August 6) at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage.

“Negative test…positive outcome…this was the only date available until the fall and because the family is so solid everybody is flying back in to make it happen for you all…SEE YOU SATURDAY…young moulaaa,” Drizzy captioned his post.

All tickets for the original August 1 date will still be honored.

Sharing news of his positive COVID test last minute on Monday (August 1), Drake said: “I am truly devastated to say that I tested positive for Covid and the Young Money Reunion show scheduled for tonight is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible. I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked.

“Until then I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the Covid).”

October World Weekend was off to a strong start before Drizzy had to pull the plug on the Young Money reunion. The weekend kicked off with the All Canadian North Stars concert at Toronto’s HISTORY last Thursday (July 29), where Drizzy brought out Canuck legends including Kardinal Offishall, K-os, Saukrates and surprise guest Nelly Furtado.

OVO fans were then treated to a concert from Chris Brown and Lil Baby at the Budweiser Stage on Friday (July 29) as part of their One Of Them Ones Tour.

Drake returned with another visual off his dance-leaning Honestly, Nevermind project earlier this week, with “Sticky” finding The Boy paying homage to the late Virgil Abloh.

Honestly, Nevermind debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in June with 204,000 total album-equivalent units sold in its first week.

The 6 God’s next new music will see him guest on DJ Khaled’s God Did album track “Staying Alive” alongside Lil Baby, which arrives on Friday (August 5).
