After Drake left social media users in shambles with a preview of his new song featuring Kim Kardashian’s voice, he let his father do the talking. Dennis Graham has addressed the Kim sample on the Canadian star’s unreleased song “Rescue Me”, claiming his son didn’t mean to stir up some drama with it.
The four-time Grammy winner previewed the track during the 100th episode of Sound 42’s “The Fry Yiy Show” on SiriusXM Radio on Friday, March 31. The snippet features a sample of the reality TV star discussing her decision to get a divorce from Kanye West in an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. “I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” Kim said in the clip.
“Drake had a busy weekend living the rapper life … dropping a new track fans expect to reheat his beef with Kanye West,” TMZ posted on Instagram about the song.
Despite what seemed to be a shade at the “Gold Digger” emcee, Drake’s father has denied that his son is trying to reignite his beef with Ye. Responding to TMZ’s post, Dennis wrote, “Drake is not trolling anyone, it’s just a song, Why try and create a Kanye and Drake beef again??????????????”

On “Rescue Me”, Drake sings about finding a woman to settle down with as he gives up his player card. “I need someone to be patient with me/ Someone to get money, would not take it from me/ They don’t even need to be as famous as me/ I don’t think I meet ’em at the places I be/ But deep down I think about you all day, mami,” he raps.
Drake had a beef with Ye in the past, but he already squashed the years-long feud in late 2021 as they reunited at the “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert. In September 2022, however, he seemingly took a swipe at the drama involving Ye and Adidas when attending Nike Maxim Awards in Beaverton, Oregon. Before congratulating Nike on 50 years of existence, he took a shot at the competition by naming some of the rival companies’ biggest representatives.
“When you put things into perspective. Adidas has Kanye, I think,” the “In My Feelings” hitmaker then quipped, drawing laughter from the crowd. “Nike, we have LeBron James, Kevin Durant, [Giannis Antetokounmpo], Michael Jordan. The greatest creative mind of all-time, Virgil Abloh, rest in peace. We have Cristiano Ronaldo. We have Serena Williams. We have [Tiger Woods],” he continued, before adding, “And I’m pretty sure Reebok has Tyga, so we’re good.”
