Drake is known for being a bit of a jewelry aficionado, and he’s added to his lavish collection thanks to an icy chain gifted to him by close friend Lil Yachty.
The 6 God flexed the new piece in an Instagram Story on Tuesday night (May 23) featuring a shiny Concrete Boys pendant, which is Lil Boat’s label.
The heavy piece sports Concrete Boys written across the top and bottom while it also includes the label’s logo with a “C” built out of shiny bricks flanked by a construction worker and a demolition crane machine.
Yachty and Drizzy’s unlikely friendship has blossomed over the years and the Atlanta rapper played an integral role in the formation of Drake’s Her Loss joint project with 21 Savage in 2022.
Aside from choosing the cover art, Yachty produced a handful of the 16 tracks, including “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” and “Pussy & Millions,” and he also performed memorable ad-libs throughout “BackOutsideBoyz.”
“I chose this cover because this photo is so raw. So authentic. Not fabricated. Suki can and will only be Suki,” Yachty said of the striking portrait of Qui Yasuka for the Her Loss cover.
Following the album’s arrival, Drake thanked Yachty for his contributions in a heartfelt Instagram Story post last November.
“WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT OUR FRIENDSHIP @lilyachty I LOVE YA KID THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME YOUR INCREDIBLE TALENT AND YOUR ADLIB GAME,” Drake wrote.
The pair traveled the world together and previously joined forces on the music side on Yachty’s 2021 hit “Oprah’s Bank Account.”
Yachty celebrated his 25th birthday with Drake and even inked himself with an OVO tattoo in a tribute to Drake.
Lil Yachty spoke to Variety in 2020 about what it’s like to collaborate and be friends with Drake after being a huge fan while growing up.
“He’s one of my favorite artists since fifth grade. Now he calls me sometimes,” Yachty said. “It’s really cool. I mean, he’s the biggest artist in the world so he has to really want to do it I can’t speak for anybody else but for me, it means everything to have a Drake feature. I’m so thankful and appreciative.”
