Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller Reuniting for New Series 19 Years After Prison Break’s Premiere
The actors played brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in the hit drama series
Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are ready to share the screen once more!
Nineteen years after the premiere of Prison Break, Purcell, 54, and Miller, 52, will reunite to star in the upcoming series Snatchback, Variety reports. Purcell also shared the news on his Instagram page.
According to an official logline shared by the outlet, the Scott Rosenbaum-written and executive-produced series “follows a highly skilled privately contracted team of operatives as they recover hostages across the globe from some of the most exotic and equally dangerous locations on the planet.”
Inspired by “the life of a real covert intelligence officer who is still active in the field today,” the series also has Purcell serving as an executive producer, along with his wife, Tish Cyrus, and Dannah Axelrod Summers of HopeTown Entertainment.
Prison Break, which originally aired for four seasons on Fox from 2005 to 2009, found Purcell and Miller playing brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield respectively. After receiving a TV film titled The Final Break, the show was revived for a fifth season in 2017.
While there were rumors the series would be returning for a sixth season, former Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier announced in August 2019 that there were no plans to revive it.
“There’s no plan right now to revive Prison Break or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I’m so proud and feel so fortunate that they’re in our stable,” Collier said at the time.
Since then, Purcell and Miller have shared the screen through appearances on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
Purcell’s collaboration with his wife comes nearly a year after they tied the knot in August 2023.
